Dorothy Jean Eustice

Dorothy Jean Eustice, 74, died after suffering from a stroke at the Stillwater Community Hospital on April 28, 2008.

She was born the daughter of Clarence and Minnie (Schuyler) Phipps on June 23, 1933 in a converted box car in Reed Point, Montana. She attended school and spent her entire life in Reed Point.

Dorothy was a kind and giving soul and never turned away anyone in need. She gave to others even though she had little herself. She will be fondly remembered for her fun loving ways. All who knew her will have special stories and memories.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Roger Phipps, her son Bernie Bohme, and her special friend Gene Woods. Dorothy is survived by her niece Ginger (Bill) Byntner of Las Vegas, NV, and her nephew Clarence (Lynn) Phipps of Reed Point, her faithful dog, Buffy, and her many, many friends in Reed Point and beyond.

Please join us for a celebration of her life at the Waterhole Saloon in Reed Point on Sunday, May 4, 2008 from 4 to 6 p.m. Donations may be made to the Reed Point Fire Department. As Dorothy would say, "Come on down, I'm buying."

Private interment will take place at the Reed Point Cemetery. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.dahlfuneralchapel.com.

William "Bill" John Mayo

From the Big Timber Pioneer, June 6-12, 2008:

William "Bill" John Mayo, 89 of Reed Point, MT, passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at his home.

He was born in Hardin, MT August 6, 1918, a son of Charles Parker Mayo and Edith Lettie Neely Mayo. He was educated in the Hardin area schools and ranched all his life in the Hardin, Billings, and Reed Point areas. He married Evelyn Fenton May 25, 1946 and she preceded him in death, September 11, 1992. He was also preceded in death by his parents, all of his siblings and a great grandson, Hunter Simmons.

His favorite pastime was painting in all medias, sculpting and carving, and had a great love for his livestock. He was a lifetime member of the Moose.

Survivors include his children, William J. Mayo, Jr. (Leona), Kenneth E. Mayo (Lynda), Marian E. Cain (Bruce) and Tim L. R. Mayo (Tina), 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, May 30 at Smith Funeral Chapel - Columbus. Visitation will be one hour before services. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Columbus.
